Plantation Tumba
Our story
Tumba is a small village in Angola. Project manager Gabriel Kula grew up there and, five years ago, shipped an original Nidwalden tractor to Tumba together with his son.
With the help of this tractor and other production equipment, over 15 hectares of agricultural land have now been made usable and various local crops have been cultivated. The yields are sold in the surrounding region and surpluses are distributed to the local population.
Plantation Tumba is an organic farm that aims to implement the concept of agroforestry in the long term. Only through the sustainable management of natural resources can the project continue in the future and ultimately serve as a model project or inspiration for the surrounding villages.
This approach avoids patronizing the local population and instead places the main responsibility and participation in the process design in the hands of the workers.
